Blocked

Currently suffering from the same strain of bloggers' block as Joe had (must be contagious), so I'll leave a link to the best cartoon series ever.

Taste Of Chaos?

Last night, I went to the Brixton Academy, where the next-to-penultimate stop of the "Taste Of Chaos" tour was being held. Personally, this sort of music isn't my type (it's very scene-kiddy), but as it was a free night out access-all-areas, courtesy of an associate of my father's, I didn't refrain to go. Playing were, Taking Back Sunday, Alexisonfire, Anti-Flag, Saosin, Senses Fail and Underoath. I spent some time before the gig chilling out with Spencer Chamberlain (the lead singer) from Underoath and met a variety of cool people: the whole of Underoath, Adam Lazzara (lead singer of Taking Back Sunday) and the Senses Fail lot. It surprised me, how normal these people were behind stage, and I couldn't get to grips with how Spencer turned from this quiet, mild guy backstage to this raving maniac on stage.

Anyway, I found that I quite liked Taking Back Sunday and Alexisonfire, I thought Underoath were good, Senses Fail were just about listenable, and I didn't particularly like Anti-Flag and Saosin (probably because Saosin had the bass too loud and it drowned out the rest of the band). And now I'm sitting at home with an Underoath poster signed by the entire band, a shirt with a working pass stuck to it, and ringing ears.

Free My Ears (Part II)

If I ever hear the words "street", "beat" and "meet" rhymed together again, I'll hurt the culprit and then myself.

Free My Ears

Kazoos and all woodwind and brass instruments except saxophones (and trumpets in very rare cases, i.e. funk or jazz) should be banned.

Point made.

Blogspot Problems

If you've tried to comment today (or perhaps any other time) on this site and you have experienced problems, then blame Blogger for its rubbishness. The reason for this is because the posts, according to my dashboard, didn't exist, and therefore I couldn't moderate the comments. The comments don't display unless I moderate them. See a fix here?

I have a suspicion that the posts disappeared off of my dash due to my failure to either name them, or my failure to put good characters in the title. Hopefully though, the problem is fixed. If you encounter a problem, email me and I'll see if I'm the culprit.

My email address is squidgyegg[at]hotmail[dot]co[dot]uk.

Muse :-) <3

In a frenzy of Muse based obsession this morning, I came up with a number of gems and proceeded to stick them on my favourites on RadioBlogClub. Basically, it's just a load of Muse b-sides and covers that can be listened to immediately.

Click on "Detach Juke.Blog" in the side bar on this page, and you get a cool little jukeboxy kind of thing come up. Then you can listen to really good music, and no crap.

I recommend The Groove, Jimmy Kane, the covers (House of the Rising Sun and Can't Take My Eyes Off of You) and Eternally Missed. Awesome songs.

And as an added bonus, there's a songs about an internets! Pink Ego Box used to be called Instant Messenger. Only Muse could get away with writing a songs about an internets!

Google Says: 800 x 5000. Numberwang!

Looking through the analysis pages for this site kindly donated by Google, I found that someone has downloaded some pages on a screen resolution of 800 x 5000. That's a tall thin screen! WTF!? To begin with, I thought that I could perhaps be a PSP, but after a small amount of research (actually, one Google search), I found that the screens are too small for that. Who the hell has a screen that shape and size!? If you know, please tell me as soon as possible, as this has already caused four seizures and a premature ejaculation.
